¿Comprar equipamiento electrónico para ver contenido de Alta Definición (HD)?

No deja de ser interesante todo lo que se está moviendo entorno a los que se espera que se la televisión de alta definición y los estándares que los productores de contenido (es decir las grandes gestoras de derechos de autor) tienen entre manos. Si estáis pensando en comprar algún equipo para reproducir contenido HD, no está mal leerse este artículo de Ars Technica. Un resumen fácil del mismo es que actualmente no están finalizados ninguno de los estándares (de protección de contenido) para la televisión HD. Por mucho que anuncien que tal o cual tarjeta tiene soporte para el mismo no es cierto (y sino, mirad lo que le ATI). En fin, mucho trabajo para proteger un contenido que acabará siendo pirateado. No deja de ser interesante esta frase del artículo:

When you tell so many people that their electronics won't do what they should do—what they paid for them to do—many of them are not going to like it. The content industry is going to walk away from this with a certain amount of egg on their face and a fat stamp of "greed" burned into their foreheads. And a few will will realize the ultimate inanity of it all: that while the studio's HD content won't play on their TV or their computers, the HD content put out by the pirates will.
